FD30 Composite Fire Door
A doorset rated to hold fire for 30 minutes, supplied with intumescent seals that expand in heat to close the gap around the leaf. Where a fire door is required, it is required as a complete set: the leaf, the frame, the hinges and the seals are tested together and cannot be mixed.
Pick this where building control or a managing agent has specified FD30. Ask us before ordering: the specification has to match what has been required of you.
A fire door is tested as a complete set — leaf, frame, hinges and intumescent seals together — and it only performs as the set it was tested as. Swapping the hinges or reusing an old frame voids the rating entirely.
Before ordering, check what has actually been required of you. FD30 and FD30S are not the same thing: the S adds smoke seals, and a managing agent or building control officer will have specified one or the other.
